Was born on Nov 19, 1933 in Moscow, Russia
1954 graduated from Moscow Theatre Art School
1954-55 worked as make-up artist in The State University of Cinematography (VGIK)
1955-60 worked as make-up artist in Mosfilm Studio on such films as Volnitsa, Sud’ba cheloveka, Nepoddayuschiesia, etc. (12 movies in all)
1964 - graduated from VGIK with degree in cinematography
1964-65 - cinematographer assistant at Soyuzmultfilm Studio
1965-69 - worked as director of photography at Mosnauchfilm Studio, Kirgizfilm Studio, Tsentrnauchfilm, Ekran Studios
1969 - was seriously injured on a live-action movie set which prevented him from continuing to work in live-action cinematography
1970-78 - director of photography at Soyuzmultfilm Studio
1978-1983 - director of photography at Ekran Studios
1983 - received highest rank in cinematography
1990 - State award for contributions to high art
Was director of photography mainly on stop-motion animation, and worked
with the directors R.A. Strautmane, V.P. Danilevich, N.N. Serebryakov,
R.A. Kachanov, I.V. Yufimtzev, Y.B. Norshteyn, and others.
1988 - together with Y.Norshteyn perfected the construction of a multiplane animation stand with their own unique construction.
1997-99 worked with Y.Norshteyn at studio “Artel.”
Was filmed in the documentary “Yuri Norshteyn” (Bulgaria, 1991)
2000 - a documentary was made about him in the cycle of films “Ostrova” (Islands) – “Aleksandr Zhukovsky”
